This is an interesting photo because it shows a PMC (Private Military Contractor) with the XM8; the now-abandoned next-gen assault rifle supposedly aimed to replace the M4 rifle for the U.S military. H&K had a team in Iraq to maintain contracted weapons, that XM8 being one of them. The guy holding it is Chris Neidrich of Black Water, now known as Academi. He was killed in action in Iraq. Another fact about the XM8 is that former General David Petraeus was so impressed with it that he carried a carbine version while on duty with the 101st.
